Milton Keynes City Council secured £1m government funding for drone deployment to expedite medicine delivery, alleviate traffic, and cut carbon emissions globally. Collaborating with Cranfield University’s Drone Innovation Hub and Satellite Applications Catapult Westcott DronePort, the council will trial new drone services alongside existing delivery and autonomous vehicle systems. This initiative bolsters Milton Keynes’ reputation as a tech leader, generating local high-tech jobs. The project encompasses smart traffic monitoring, secure parcel delivery, remote building inspections, and emergency medical supply transfer. Real-time data sharing among drone services enhances response speed, while integrating ground and air services curbs emissions.
